M. T. Vasudevan Nair is the best known among his generation of storytellers in Malayalam. He has won the Sahitya Akademi Award, the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award and Jnanpith Award.
N. Gopalakrishnan (trans.) is a well-known writer and translator, and recipient of the Kendriya Sahitya Akademi Award in 2007.
