für Internationale Beziehungen und Europäische Integration
an der Universität Stuttgart. Zur Zeit ist sie Beraterin in
der SPE Unternehmensberatung in Walldorf. Der Schwerpunkt
ihrer Arbeit liegt auf Softwareschulungen für SAP-Software
in Energieversorgungsunternehmen. Inga Squarr, M.A.,
studierte an den Universitäten Heidelberg und Freiburg
(Staatsexamen und Magister) und war Lehrbeauftragte am
Politikwissenschaftlichen Seminar der Universität Freiburg.
Außerdem war sie als Trainering und Beraterin in der Jugend-
und Erwachsenenbildung tätig. Zur Zeit ist sie Beraterin in

My 4 year old son Jack prayed this at bedtime tonight: "Dear God. Thank you for giving me your spirit to come in me. Help me to follow you with my whole heart. I don't want to follow you halfway like Halfway Herbert but all the way." It's been about a week since we've read Halfway Herbert. I think the prayer speaks for itself.

A Fun Take on Doing Things All the Way

"Herbert Hallweg was seven-and-a-half years old, three-and-a-half feet tall, and fifty-five-and-a-half pounds heavy. He had lots of friends, but none of them called him Herbert. Instead, everyone called him... Halfway Herbert."

That's how Francis Chan begins his children's book, Halfway Herbert. Herbert only ever does things halfway. He brushes half his teeth, does half his homework, eats half his food and gets half the sleep he needs. So when he is riding his bike and is only half paying attention, he hits his dad's car & decides to tell only half the truth... and gets caught in a whole lie. When his dad confronts him, he teaches Herbert that none of life isn't meant to be lived halfway--especially our lives as Christians.

In this book, Chan does a terrific job of distilling the core message of Crazy Love into a powerful reminder of the importance of loving the Lord with all your heart, mind, soul and strength. That there's no such thing as being halfway obedient to Christ--He demands all of us. Although we always follow imperfectly, even in that the Holy Spirit is making us more and more like Christ.

I was quite impressed when I read Halfway Herbert. It's geared perfectly to children around ages 4-8 (my oldest daughter listened attentively as my wife read it to her before we secretly bought it as a Christmas gift)--but it also has a lot to teach adults. Our children learn as much from our example what it means to be a Christian as they do from reading the Bible themselves. And when they're really young, they learn almost entirely from us. So what's the example we're setting? Do we live like people who are completely sold out for the cause of Christ... or are we, too, Halfway Herberts?

I'd highly encourage parents to pick up a copy of Halfway Herbert for their children. Read it together and encourage one another to live a life fully devoted to Christ.

I was given this book for an honest review by Inked Rainbow Reads

I really liked Dean. He was well spoken, thoughtful, showed emotions, but was still tough. Matt, while I imagine many like him, I was not his biggest fan. I felt he was almost mean towards Dean. I really dislike people who are dismissive of others. I understand that Matt was protecting both himself and Dean, but I just couldn't get on board with how he decided to protect himself.

Matt was always pointing out to Dean how "clingy" or "crazy" he was being, but I thought that Matt was the more whiny of the two. Matt gave excuse after excuse, while Dean was trying to give solutions to the issues that they were having. While they were together, they were great. They were thorough lovers and the reader could see how much they cared for each other. But, once they were outside of the privacy of their bubble, Matt became this totally different character.

The crimes of this book, while not overtly bloody or gruesome did end up becoming much more dangerous. I really enjoyed the story line - it was one that held my interest and made me think. I always enjoy a good mystery.

Overall, I have enjoyed the couple of Byrnes books that I have read.

This being book three in the series I had hoped that the characters would have been more well developed.

Dean works for KCPD and while he is investigating the local business thefts he becomes partnered up with Matt from the FBI when the investigation and thefts cross state lines.

Yes these two men are attracted to one another but my problem is that Matt does not seem like the nicest guy. He kind of treats Dean like a play thing and I think that with the way Matt treated Dean that Dean should have had enough self respect to tell Matt to hit he road and not come back.

Don't get me wrong I like a book that has the couples that get together to have there issues before finally ending up happily ever after but I think there is a difference between issues and just being an out right jackass.

Regardless of this not being my favorite in the series so far I will keep reading and look forward to the next book.

Unusual BDSM story - but very interesting

I have to preface this by saying I have not read a lot of BDSM. But of what I have read, this is not typical. This story was a very interesting look into the psychology of a true submissive. The plot involves a young american who has played a bit in the BDSM clubs but has not been satisfied. She feels she wants to be trained as a true submissive. (full time lifestyle as opposed to just playing in the clubs.) She finds a reclusive but renowned trainer in England and convinces him to train her. The story describes her 2 weeks of training at his house in England as she struggles between her innate desire to be a submissive and her desire to have things done her way. For instance, when the driver meets her at the airport to pick her up, he asks her for her documents, and money, then has her throw everything else, including her very exspensive handbag in the trash. The first of her many difficult emotional struggles. In addition to the emotional and psycological challanges, there is plenty of X rated content, and the story does end HEA. I found the book to be very entertaining, almost educational!

The author sets the bar high for this genre

It's been a few weeks since I read this novel, but the story has stuck with me.

The beginning starts Alana, the main character, just arriving in England to meet with Ethan, the master Dom that has reluctantly agreed to train her. He has refrained from it in recent years for personal reasons, but Alana insisted that only he could help her. From the airport to the end of the story, she battles with the demands he places on her as a submissive. No aspect of her life is left untouched by his control.

There are other secondary characters under Ethan's employ that play important roles as well which helped to add more depth. Despite the length of the novel, character development was good. I couldn't exactly buy the idea of her falling in love under the circumstances and so quickly, but the story was definitely one of the most erotic I've ever read. If your into this genre, you should really enjoy this book.

For a short novel, it's keep you on the edge of your seat

If I could have given this book 4-1/2 stars, I would have. But I thought it deserved more recognition, so 5 stars it is. It's a really, really good erotic short story. One might want to have a toy or partner near by. A constant turn on from the first few pages. Very well written...a few grammatical/punctuation errors. I'm in the process of finding more to read from this author. I highly recommend it.

David Planchard is the founder of D&M Education LLC. Before starting D&M Education, he spent over 27 years in industry and academia holding various engineering, marketing, and teaching positions. He holds five U.S. patents. He has published and authored numerous papers on Machine Design, Product Design, Mechanics of Materials, and Solid Modeling. He is an active member of the SOLIDWORKS Users Group and the American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE). David holds a BSME, MSM with the following professional certifications: CCAI, CCNP, CSDA, CSWSA-FEA, CSWP, CSWP-DRWT and SOLIDWORKS Accredited Educator. David is a SOLIDWORKS Solution Partner, an Adjunct Faculty member and the SAE advisor at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in the Mechanical Engineering department. In 2012, David s senior Major Qualifying Project team (senior capstone) won first place in the Mechanical Engineering department at WPI. In 2014 and 2015, David s senior Major Qualifying Project team won the Provost award in Mechanical Engineering for design excellence.

If you purchased the hands on lab course Learning The Art of Electronics (pub 2016) and want to do all the labs, you will find a very time consuming and tedious task of ordering the parts as there are over 135 distinct part numbers from 9 suppliers. Luckily, at the EEVblog forum, BobsURuncle posted Excel spreadsheets with all the parts organized in a format where they can be uploaded into the parts distributors shopping carts. Excellent, but not a stand-alone.

Either use this manual with another text (such as The Art of Electronics - Horowitz and Hill) or with a good instructor, or both. It does an excellent job of taking you step by step through many circuit building techniques that are essential to electronics and it is a good reference manual. My only complaint is that it tends to pose interesting questions for the reader without ever following up or guiding the reader towards a conclusion. It's good to get you thinking, but unless you have time to delve into every detail with your own investigations, it can be frustrating not to get a clear answer to vague questions and sinarios. Overall, it is a great book and essential for laboratory use. The authors are comical, but not overly so, thus making the venture of reading this book a delight.

The physical details of the circuits described will become abundantly clear to the reader -- nothing is left hidden, and performing the lab steps cements this in place.

Great Read, and not just about Sex

I found this a very easy to read book packed with wisdom about relationships and sex. There's a lot of insight into what Vera and Steve share ... if you take the time to absorb it. I've taken classes about the male/female dynamic, and have seen some of this material before, but this time, I understood some of the points in a new way. I suggest it for anyone in a relationship as they share some tips we all can benefit from!

I highly recommend it, and working with them. Their experience has helped me expand the pleasure in my life.

This book is easy to read yet has great life-impacting information. i just loved it and has made my life musch more fun and easier to relate with my boyfriend. Our sex is way better and we have given up so many old hang-ups that were preventing us from realizing how much in love we are. the book is worth 10 stars and i recommend it to all my girlfriends.

I hate Bryon Douglas.

The first time I read this book I was 13 and I loved it. I couldn't relate and it angered the hell out of me but u loved it anyway. I read it again at 15 and I got a new feeling because I understood what it was like to lose friends and now I'm a senior and about to go off to college and I'm more pissed than the first time I read it and I just can't believe how things turn out. I hate bryon Douglas and I will hate bryon Douglas for the rest of my life to grow apart from your friends is one thing but friends don't turn on friends. I hate him and everything does and everything he stands for and I hate how he tries to justify his actions. I hate him.

A Powerful and Compelling Coming of Age Story

"That was Then, This is Now" centers around the lives of four adolescents. There is the narrator, Byron Douglas, a handsome charming but ultimately selfish and self-absorbed teenager. There is Mark, whom Byron's mother adopted for her own and who is Byron's best friend. Mark's penchant for mischief is too often offset by his winning smile, and he maintains a fierce loyalty to his friends. The two minor but equally important characters are Cathy, a precocious young woman who falls in love with Byron, and her younger brother M&M, a sensitive and soulful hippie wannabe.

The book moves in different actions so that it seems we're reading two novels about two brothers and best friends. In the first novel, Mark and Byron are always by each other's side, and together they witness the fearsome murder of their good friend Charlie, which scars both. In the second novel, there's a love triangle -- Byron has fallen deeply in love with Cathy, and Mark feels abandoned. The novel comes to a climax when Byron commits an act that will forever severe his relationship with both Mark and Cathy.

Like in "The Outsiders", SE Hinton has a gift for understanding and speaking the language of troubled adolescent boys, making us think she is in fact one herself. And the writing is pristine and polished, as always. But the characters are far less compelling than the ones we were entranced by in "The Outsiders," and the plot far more fragile and broken.

Still, many a teenager will find "That was Then, This is Now" speaks to them in the most haunting manner possible.

Good service.

This was very good quality service. After I finished the book, I wanted to hurl it across the room (in a good way, you know how us book lovers are, very passionate) and scream. But, I couldn't, because I was in class. This story was very, very good. One of my favorites by S.E. Hinton. I would recommend it to fans of The Outsiders, or any of her other books really. Along with that, anyone who enjoys Realistic-Fiction, and coming of age type stories.
